My name is Tyler Kees and I am excited to begin this journey with you. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2015. From that point, I began my graduate journey at Capella University, focusing on clinical psychology. I graduated with my Master’s in Clinical Psychology in 2019. I received my license in counseling in July of 2020.
I began working in the behavioral health field in 2015. I started as a Behavioral Health Specialist working with the under served population in Apache Junction. Since then, I have worked at most levels of the behavioral health industry, from technician to clinical program manager in the Substance Use field.
I have been trained in many different areas of therapy and counseling. I do not believe in the “one size fits all” model. I believe each person has their own response to each theoretical orientation of therapy. I have been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, client-centered, and many others. I will utilize what I believe will be the best for you.
I have an incredibly unique ability to develop a therapeutic relationship very quickly. I believe this is the most important part of it all. If there is not a positive relationship, the therapeutic experience will lack significantly. I try to find the core of the issue with you. I do not do well with worksheets or YouTube mindfulness videos; you can do all of those things from home. I believe that if you feel you need help from a licensed professional, there should be more than the entities mentioned.
I have significant experience with all behavioral health challenges and am excited to learn, grow, and help each one of you.
